New Single! Dam Gilden Lieder (The Guild Leader Song)

I know it's been quiet for ages...at last, the new single is OUT!  Dam Gilden Lieder (The Guild Leader Song) is available for purchase on CDBaby.com, iTunes, Amazon, and the full version is streaming on Spotify!  (If you don't have Spotify, check it out at www.spotify.com .  The basic version is add supported and FREE, and you can listen to all my tunes!)

Here's a copy of the liner notes on CDBaby:

I dedicate this song to everyone who has ever been in a guild...especially a MMORPG. It was inspired in part by the hit web series, The Guild (props to Felicia Day and the whole cast!), but more from having spent almost ten years experiencing the dysfunctional life of MMORPG guilds and watching each and every one of them fall apart in games like Dark Age of Camelot and World of Warcraft. They all get a 50 DKP minus.

About the title..."Dam Gilden Lieder" is (roughly) German for The Guild Song. And if you say it fast, it sounds somewhere between "Damn Guild Leader" and "Damn Golden Leader" which, if you've ever been in a guild, should make more sense than it should. Every guild leader is somewhere between Leader and Golden Boy, and in the end, you're better off playing Skyrim by yourself. You know what I mean.

Enjoy the song! And if it helps one person wake up from a post-four hour raid tantrum, and go outside and see the sun, it will have been worth it.

I'll be posting the full lyrics on a new song page here on the blog soon...in the meantime, you can check them out at: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/adammorris2.

The Official Video for A Dog Named Indiana is on YouTube!

My first official video from Surf Gator, A Dog Named Indiana, is out on YouTube!

Check out Indiana and all his cuteness at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30NURHpiqKg

Most of this video was shot with a hand held Flip MinoHD movie camera, with some segments using the video function of Nikon 5600 point and shoot camera.  I used Microsoft Movie Maker to put the clips together, though I think if I do more of these I need to invest in better software for movie editing.

Let me know what you think...and whether or not Tiger will be grateful for the limelight or really kill us in our sleep this time!

The Twelve Days of Zombies

So people ask me where I get the ideas for my music...ok, well, they DON'T, but if I were a famous rock star, they would, so pretend with me for a moment...

So people ask me where I get the ideas for my music, that is, they might ask if, that is, they would if, that is...perhaps I should just get on with it...

So for this PARTICULAR idea, my brother-in-law-in-law sends me a link to his Amazon Wish List, you know, for Christmas, and it's lots of zombie-related material.  Having recently been playing Left4Dead sporadically over the past few months, I've also got zombies on the brain...so in a flash, I write out full lyrics for a zombie parody of Have a Holly Jolly Christmas.  Then Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.  And then, finally, The Twelve Days of Christmas.

So the first two are copyrighted, and it would take a bit of work to get permission to sell parodies of those songs, I decide to start with The Twelve Days of Christmas, very much in the public domain.  So with Left4Dead and a genre of zombie shooter games, The Twelve Days of Christmas are born.  Enjoy!

Edit: The Kings of Carnage, just ten days ago (apparently, shortly AFTER I tried to search for zombie christmas songs), have a whole album of zombie Christmas songs, sung by zombies.  Perhaps I need to a musical war with the zombie singers, you know, like rapper wars!  Here's a link to their album on iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/a-very-zombie-christmas-a/id409674672
